Two more legendary birds are joining Research Breakthroughs in January and February.
Starting on January 1st, you’ll have the chance to encounter two new additions to Field Research Breakthroughs — Lugia and Ho-Oh.
If you haven’t yet completed your December Field Research, you’ll still have the opportunity to encounter Articunno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. All eight of these Legendary Pokémon will be available as potential Research Breakthrough encounters until the end of February.
This is great news for rural players who haven’t had a chance to battle in tier five raids or who may have just missed out. I personally am still waiting to encounter an Articuno thru Field Research Breakthroughs. I missed out on the Articuno Day during the summer and didn’t encounter a single one during the Legendary birds weekend a few months ago.
