Following in the positive success of the original Splatoon, Nintendo is rolling out a special Splatoon 2 preview as well with another Global Testfire.
With the game not set to make the switch to Nintendo’s newest console until the summer, Nintendo Switch owners be able to participate in a special Splatoon 2 preview a few months earlier. A special demo version of Splatoon 2 will be available for download on Nintendo Switch which will allow players to battle against opponents around the world in the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire event.
The event will give Nintendo Switch owners six chances to play with other owners worldwide during the three-day event. The timing of the event is as follows:
- March 24:
- 3-3:59pm ET
- 11-11:59pm ET
- March 25:
- 7-7:59am ET
- 3-3:59pm ET
- 11-11:59pm ET
- March 26:
- 7-7:59am ET
The original Global Testfire event pre-launch of Splatoon had some connection issues, so this event is also likely being designed to test out the servers before the game launches worldwide in the summer.
All indications are that the content for the Global Testfire is similar to what’s being offered on the Nintendo Switch Preview Tour. Players can test four different main weapons, including the new Splat Dualies, as well as remixed versions of the iconic Splat Roller and Splat Charger.
We look forward to sharing additional findings soon, such as when the demo will be available for download on Nintendo eShop.
