Have you heard of the strategy role playing card game Pixel Tactics? I hadn’t either before today, but they are a series of card games created by Level 99 Games and look like a pretty challenging and innovative game. With five series and multiple expansions, there are now more on the way thanks to Jasco Games.
Jasco Games, which recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund a licensed Mega Man: The Board Game, is just 48 hours away from funding a Mega Man edition of Pixel Tactics on Kickstarter.
Pixel Tactics is a 2-player card game that captures the tactical strategy of a classic SRPG (Strategy Role Playing Game). Battles take about 30 minutes to play, and each game is vastly different due to the powerful influence of Leaders over game play!
Each box comes with over 25 different characters, including Mega Man himself and his many allies and villains throughout the classic series. Being created are two series, a Mega Man blue edition with characters from Mega Man 1-3 and a Proto Man red edition with characters from Mega Man 4-6. Both boxes are complete games, and you can play a complete 2-player game with just one box.
The cards are also fully compatible with other Pixel Tactics Games.
The Kickstarter had looked to raise $20,000 USD to fund the project, but has now raised more than four times that and is at nearly $84,000 as of Sunday night. The campaign ends on Tuesday night at midnight Eastern time and one set of the games (either blue or red) can be picked up with just a $20 pledge.
For this campaign the company is only shipping to the USA and Canada as they have licencing for North America for Mega Man classic.
