Nintendo announced yesterday that they have planned another Nintendo Direct for today (5:00pm Eastern Time), just a week after their Pokémon Direct. That saw the announcement of the next main game in the Pokémon series, which now has many anticipating a big announcement.
Nintendo stated in their release that NX and mobile would not be a topic in this Direct, which will see the focus set in Spring and Summer releases for the Wii U and 3DS. I have seen tweets today that perhaps a new Kirby game will be announced, among other tongue and cheek comments about cancellations of other projects.
The event will likely focus on already announced titles, and it’s also likely that some previously undated games will get a clearer release window or firm date. Upcoming Metroid Prime: Federation Force has yet to be given a release date, and has only been seen once so far. That was the original teaser for the game last year. It’s likely that this Direct will have more information on that game and a release window more specific than simply 2016.
What do you expect to see tonight? Will Nintendo surprise us with a new Kirby game? Or are they leaving the bigger announcements for another day?
The Nintendo Direct starts tonight. Bookmark this page and come back here at 5:00pm to watch the show.
