Circle Entertainment tweeted earlier today that their upcoming title Parascientific Escape: Cruise in the Distant Sea will be released on the 3DS eShop this week.
The game follows Hitomi Akeneno, a 16 year old high school student with a little secret – she has not one, but two psychic powers. After receiving an invitation, she boards a luxury cruise ship with her friend, Chisono Shio. As soon as she enters a suite room, a loud explosion sounds…and she finds herself stuck, unable to get out. Is this an accident? Or something far more sinister…? The only way to find out is to escape, with the help of her powers.
While this certainly means that the adventure + escape game will be hitting North American eShops on Thursday, Circle also tagged Japanese developer Flyhigh Works in the tweet. Circle releases many Flyhigh Works titles in North America, so this could also suggest that the game could be seeing a Japanese release on Wednesday’s Nintendo of Japan download.
With the game yet to appear on either Nintendo.com or Nintendo.co.jp, we’ve reached out to Circle for clarificiation.
UPDATE: The game will be released in both North America and Europe.
