Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata has passed away today. Nintendo announced the passing in a one word statement released today.
“Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth.”
Iwata was appointed as Director in June 2000 and as president in May 2002. Satoru Iwawa was appointed as CEO of Nintendo of America Inc. in June 2013.
