Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, which was released on September 13th in Japan, has sold 944,644 copies at retail, and Japanese sales tracker Media Create reports that it sold through 93.45% of its shipment. Including eShop digital sales, Nintendo is reporting that the game has topped one million.
That’s up from 2008’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Wii which sold 819,647 copes at launch, and saw a sell-through of 94.37% of its shipment.
Nintendo 3DS hardware sales didn’t see a spike though with an increase of 10,000 units over the previous week. Withthe New Nintendo 3DS launching on October 11th, consumers may be waiting for the upgraded hardware.
Thehe Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. Is set to be released this holiday season, though doesn’t have a firm date yet. Super Smash Bros. will be released in North America on October 3rd.
