Warlords of Draenor looks to both capture the magic of the story that took place during the original RTS games, and rewrite it. In the recently released trailer, we see quite the pivotal moment being changed in the Orcs history. From what I’ve read, I’m pretty sure this counts as an alternate universe that is being created, not an alteration to the current time line. So it keeps our Azeroth nice and safe potentially while all of us get to go out and explore the world of what if.
