PS Vita users have a new NIS America game launching today in the form of a mystery! This is a revised and revamped version of the original Danganronpa that was released for the PSP in Japan back in 2010. You play as Makoto Naegi, a high school student who finds himself trapped with others in a Battle Royale like struggle within their own school! There’s more to it than just that with a little bear named Monokuma running the show and even holding mock trials. Sound curious? Read on for the trailer!
So these students are a prisoner in their own school. From there it seems Monokuma has pit them against each other to murder each other and try to get away with it. It seems that’s where the trials come in. Kotaku already has a review posted and likens the game to Clue meets Battle Royale, Persona, Zero Escape, and Phoenix Wright! It seems at the end of each chapter you’ll be brought into a trial that’s more of a rhythm game to fire “truth bullets” at testimony you’re presented with. The game seems to be a visual novel of sorts, so I don’t think you’ll be battling it out yourself. Just from the trailer alone it does have a strong Clue vibe. Check it out below.
