It’s been a while since we last looked at the upcoming Star Trek video game. While we haven’t had a chance for any sort of hands on look at the game, the producers of the game have released a few more photos from the upcoming game.
Star Trek: The Video Game features an original story and is not a movie tie-in to Paramount Pictures’ upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness film. The game will act as sort of a bridge between the two films. The story for the game was written by veteran God of War writer Marianne Krawczyk.
Players will assume the roles of either Captain James T. Kirk or Spock and the game promises to have a different experience tailored to the personalities of each Trek character.
This could be just the first of several games to come from Paramount.
“We hope this will be the first of several movie-based games that we deliver,” said Thomas Lesinski, president of Paramount Digital Entertainment at E3 in 2011. “There hasn’t been a quality Star Trek game in a very long time, but the franchise has great appeal to the gaming community.”
Star Trek: The Video Game will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on April 23rd. We’ve reached out to Namco Bandai and if we manage to get our hands on the game before that date we will give you a preview of the game.
