Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is already out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but the game will also be released on the upcoming Nintendo Wii U console. According to a video preview of the game released by Namco Bandai Games today the game is set to be released as a launch title.
There are special elements set to be exclusive to the Wii U version, most notably Nintendo themed costumes for the fighters and a mode where mushroom power ups roam around the battle field. Mushrooms include the super mushroom causing the fighter to grow and also another that causes the fighter to shrink.
Costumes included in the game are Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Link, Zelda, Bowser and costumes from Star Fox.
I must say that it would have been great to see the actual Nintendo characters in the game, such as was done with the Gamecube version of Soul Caliber III. It’s a little disconcerting seeing a male fighter in the game dressed up as Princess Peach.
To each his own, I guess.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be available at launch on November 18th for the Nintendo Wii U.
